Philosophy
There is no magic pill. When it comes to health there is no magic pill, no magic adjustment, no magic exercise. There are just a sequence of events that are either healing or destructive. These events can fall anywhere on the spectrum, from extremely destructive like a car crash, or mildly destructive like a cup of coffee. Likewise healing events can fall anywhere on the spectrum from something extremely healing like a juice feast to something mildly healing like a walk in the park. Thus we begin to see that health or sickness is made up of a series of choices and these choices shape our life. I am not saying that you must make perfect choices all of the time I am just saying that the good should outnumber the bad. What percentage of good vs. bad decisions you need to make in order to heal depends primarily on the level of your health and the processes going on in your body.
There are three main areas of insult to your system and thus there are three main areas of focus when healing your system. The three areas are Physical, Chemical and Emotional. A car wreck has severe physical ramifications on your body, like any injury, tissues are damaged and must be repaired for the body to be able to function again. Other areas of physical insult include misalignments of your spine, not getting proper exercise, and not getting enough sleep. Our nervous system is the master system in the body, it controls every function of every hormone, organ, gland, and tissue. Misalignments in the spine cause interference in the nervous system. This interference causes a decrease in the nervous systems ability to properly regulate itself, this leads to the breakdown of the body. That is the value of chiropractic. Many of you have sought out chiropractic for pain relief, and it will do that, but the value of chiropractic is its ability to help you regulate the master system in the body.
The chemical side of health is often the hardest one to reign in, and the one that is focused on the most, but when it is broken down to an elemental level is quite simple. Good in good out. When you put good things in your body good health comes out, when you put bad things in bad health comes out. You can not expect to eat processed foods for 20 years and come away with the same blood chemistry as someone who ate whole organic foods. It goes back to choices. Health is a series of good choices over time. The problem that I see most people running into is that they want the best of both worlds, they want to put bad things into their body, take a magic pill or two(maybe pharmaceutical, or the next miracle vitamin) and then expect good health in return. That is not how the body works, if you put in bad things, with a little bit of the good things, you get slightly above horrible health.
Emotional stress is one that we are not going to touch on to much, not because it is not important but because I am less qualified to do so. This much I will say, take care of the physical and the chemical factors in your life and the emotional factors will begin to take care of themselves. I have seen depression and anxiety totally corrected with nothing more than chiropractic adjustments. I have also seen it corrected with nothing more than taking away the processed foods and additives. I have seen ADD and ADHD that is cured without the use of drugs, only by taking away the physical and chemical stresses in the children.
In conclusion I would like to remind everyone that the body is a miracle, that it has in it a power, that it can heal itself of any infirmity, no disease is out of its scope for healing. It needs no miracle pill, it is the miracle. Simply remove the things in your life that are keeping the miracle from fruition.
